By this summer, eight mobile shelters are planned to be installed along the Odesa coastline; these are designed to withstand shock waves and be accessible to people with reduced mobility. The estimated cost of the project is 35 million hryvnias.

This is evidenced by a tender published by the city’s Department of Engineering Protection of the City Territory and Coastal Development, reports NikVesti.

According to the documentation, the shelters are to be installed by 1 June 2026. These are modular structures designed to accommodate people for up to four hours during emergencies.

The project envisages shelters of varying capacities: the largest is designed for 135 people, others for 95, 90, 65, 50 and 45, as well as two modules for 55 people.

The mobile structures must comply with national standards and provide protection against debris and shock waves of at least 100 kPa. They must be constructed from durable materials, including heavy-duty concrete, and consist of modular units for rapid assembly without the need for major construction work.

It is noted that each shelter must have at least two secure entrances, ventilation, electricity supply, lighting and sanitary facilities. They must also be adapted for people with disabilities — with ramps and specially equipped areas.

The submission of tender proposals will run until 25 March, with the auction scheduled for 26 March 2026. The warranty for the shelters must be for at least three years.

Previously, NikVesti reported that the company «Master Bud-Montazh», registered in Mykolaiv with a capital of two thousand hryvnias, had been awarded a contract worth almost 20 million hryvnias for the renovation of a shelter at the lyceum. The work was not completed on time, and the prosecutor’s office is demanding that a fine and damages be recovered from the contractor.
