Local authorities are being asked to lower the rent for land for entrepreneurs in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv entrepreneurs are asking the authorities to review tax rates and reduce the rent for land use by 50% for the possibility of conducting trade activities.

They sent a corresponding appeal to the editorial office of NikVesti.

In the letter, they complain that doing business in the conditions that exist today is survival, particularly because of high taxes. Entrepreneurs cite the example of other cities, which the authorities have exempted from rent for the use of communally owned property.

«Entrepreneurs of our native city of Mykolaiv turn to you, because you are the only truthful publication in the city that covers all the news in the true form, without lies and hypocrisy. Our appeal is the last hope for support in such difficult days for the country, especially for entrepreneurs of small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurial activity. In that difficult time for the country, almost all enterprises in the city are closed, some of them are simply destroyed, we are trying to somehow survive and provide jobs for our salespeople, while paying taxes that are not high for today. When in such cities as Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Odesa, the local self-government authorities, at regular meetings, canceled land rent for entrepreneurs a long time ago,» says the appeal.

Consideration of such issues is additionally complicated by the absence of open offline meetings of Mykolaiv City Council bodies.

«In our city, all meetings are held online, where such issues are not even discussed. We have repeatedly appealed to the authorities of our self-government to reduce the rent by 50%, but so far to no avail. You are our only hope that we will be heard. Please highlight our request in your next issue to resolve this issue. We thank you in advance for your participation and help in solving the difficult issues of entrepreneurs and ordinary residents of the city,» the entrepreneurs note.

The appeal was signed by 26 entrepreneurs.

Note that in some cities, for example, Kharkiv, certain categories of citizens have been exempted from rent payments. The Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, then explained that this would reduce the burden on tenants, who in fact did not have the opportunity to use the rented property for its intended purpose.

We would like to remind you that the revenues to the budget of the city of Mykolaiv from the lease of land for the past year 2022 decreased by 61.5%, compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
