A 98-year-old grandmother who got out of occupied Donetsk region on her own has received a new passport

In Dnipropetrovsk region, 98-year-old Lidiia Stepanivna, who in April left the occupied village in Donetsk region by herself, had her passport restored and issued a new one. Her old documents were destroyed by the invaders.

«On June 11, the Pershotravenskyi department of the State Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region issued a passport to 98-year-old Lidiia Stepanivna, a citizen of Ukraine, who, risking her life, walked across the front line from occupied Ocheretyne to the positions of the Armed Forces,» the state institution noted.

Previously, the story of the old woman touched the whole country. A 98-year-old woman covered 10 kilometers of a difficult path on foot without food, water or relatives under fire to get out of the occupied part of Ocheretyne and reach the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Then she was noticed by the military and handed over to the «White Angel» evacuation group.

The Russians destroyed the house that the woman built herself. She says that her village suffered much worse destruction than during the Second World War.
