The deputy head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Yurii Hranaturov, proposed to allocate funding for the work of the Military Medical Commission (MMC) from local budgets, as the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHS) covers only 70% of costs.
He announced this during an online meeting on mobilization and important social issues in the Mykolaiv region, NikVesti reports.
It is noted that at the beginning of the meeting, the chief of staff of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Bon, informed the participants about the mobilization measures carried out by the local self-government bodies.
In turn, Yurii Hranaturov said that «thanks to effective work» the load on military medical commissions has increased, so the NHS is unable to fully cover expenses.
«Thanks to your effective work, the load on some military medical commissions is very high. According to the package of MMC and the contract with NHS, their expenses are covered by about 70%, and sometimes 65%. Therefore, we appeal to you to allocate the necessary funds from local budgets for those hospitals with a heavy load,» he suggested.
We will remind you that the military medical commission takes into account the most acute illness of a conscript and determines whether he is fit for military service. If the conscript does not have a pronounced disease and strong health complaints, he will be considered fit for service.
There are 21 freelance military medical commissions working in the Mykolaiv region. They were placed on the premises of hospitals so that people could receive additional examinations on the spot.
Also, the terms of passing the military medical commission in Ukraine have been shortened. Now the medical examination of conscripts must take no longer than 4 working days.
