Ukrainian air defense shot down the X-59 missile and 89 Shahed drones

On the night of July 31, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with an X-59 air missile and 89 Shahed 131/136 attack drones. Defense forces destroyed all aerial targets.

This was reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk.

According to him, this was one of the most massive drone attacks during the entire period of full-scale war. The Russians released the same number of drones on the night of January 1, 2024.

The Russians fired an air-launched missile from the territory of the temporarily occupied Kherson Region, and the attack drones from the Yeysk, Sieshcha, Kursk, and Primorsky-Akhtarsk regions of the Russian Federation. The main direction of the attack is Kyiv region.

Mobile fire groups of all Defense Forces of Ukraine, tactical aviation of the Air Force and army aviation of the Ground Forces, anti-aircraft missile units and EW of the Air Force were involved in repelling the air attack.
