The Capital Construction Department of Mykolaiv City Council has announced a tender for the refurbishment of the kitchen and canteen at Gymnasium №3. The estimated cost of the works is 27.5 million hryvnias.
This is according to data from the Prozorro public procurement system, as reported by NikVesti.
The project is being implemented as part of the state programme to modernise school catering. The works will be funded by a grant from the state budget. The project is also co-funded by the European Union under the Ukraine Facility programme.
According to the tender documentation, modernisation work is planned for the canteen premises. In particular, the plans include demolition work, the installation of new utility networks, and the reinforcement of certain structural elements of the building.
To install the new kitchen equipment, plans include fitting out special metal frames, platforms and foundations. Furthermore, the project involves the installation of ventilation equipment, boilers, water storage tanks and a grease trap.
There are also plans to relocate the lift and partially replace the floor slabs. Furthermore, new processing equipment will be installed in the canteen, and the premises and access routes to the dining hall will be adapted to meet the needs of people with reduced mobility.
The renovation is scheduled to be completed by 30 December 2026. Tender proposals are currently being accepted, and the successful bidder will be selected after 9 July.
Meanwhile, the DREAM digital recovery ecosystem states that the main aim of the project is to create modern conditions for pupils to prepare and consume food, to bring the canteen into line with health and safety requirements, and to improve the quality of school meals.
It should be noted that work is continuing in Mykolaiv to renovate the canteens at two lyceums and two gymnasiums. The plans involve replacing equipment and internal networks, as well as refurbishing all internal structures. Renovations are planned for the canteens at four schools: Lyceums №3 and №40, and Gymnasiums №46 and №52. Funding has been allocated from European Union funds under the Ukraine Facility programme. The renovations are being co-financed from the local budget.
Plans also include the design of a canteen for Gymnasium №20, with a view to subsequently securing a grant for the refurbishment through a competitive tender.
