Four «underground hospitals» projects are being implemented in Kherson. Currently, a tender has already been held for the construction of the surgical department, which will also be located in the shelter.

According to the data of the public procurement system ProZorro, 27 million 344 thousand hryvnias will be spent on the surgical department in the shelter.

It will be equipped on the basis of the city hospital named after Luchansky. It should be noted that works on the object will be performed by «ALSVIT PLUS» LLC from the city of Kyiv. The warehouse with a surgical unit equipped in it should be completed by September 1, 2024.

The company has a long tender history in various cities and has been operating for more than 10 years. In general, it is engaged in the installation of water supply networks, activities in the field of engineering, geology and geodesy, provision of technical consulting services in these areas, construction of residential and non-residential buildings, and others.

It should be noted that in December 2023, on his Facebook page, the head of Kherson OVA Oleksandr Prokudin announced that an underground perinatal complex would also be created in Kherson. It will be equipped with a maternity and postpartum department, halls with an intensive care unit, and an operating room. All of them will be equipped with modern equipment to continuously provide the necessary assistance to mothers and newborns.

Also yesterday, April 10, Oleksandr Prokudin noted that, in general, we are currently implementing four projects of «underground hospitals» in order to provide safe conditions in health care facilities in the Kherson region. For the arrangement of two of them, we need to allocate funds at the expense of a subvention from the state budget.

«Completion of the construction of the objects is planned no later than December 31, 2024. Now the first stage has begun — submission of the relevant package of documents. It will last until May 1. Of course, we wanted to complete this process as soon as possible, so we count on the support of the Ministry of Health. The Ministry of Health assured that it will look for additional resources for our region, already after the first wave of project funding, because it understands that the arrangement of the specified objects is critically important for the front-line territories,» he added.

We will remind that in January of this year, the Russians shelled a hospital in Kherson. As a result of the attack, three medical workers and another person were injured. One of the medical facilities was also damaged in February this year.
