Ukraine can produce more than three million drones a year. For this, the state has sufficient production capacity and cooperation with international partners.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries and Industry of Ukraine, Anna Hvozdiar, during the Brave1 Precision hackathon, Suspilne writes.
«We have sufficiently large production capacity, we can produce more than 3 million drones of various types today. For this, we need funding,» says Anna Hvozdiar.
According to her, the state can cover only part of these needs, and foreign partners cover the rest. In particular, Canada agreed to purchase part of Ukrainian-made drones for the Ukrainian army. Negotiations are also underway with other countries, in particular the United Kingdom.
«We have sufficiently developed at the expense of both state and private capacities, regarding products of various types for drones. More than a million drones — it is clear that they need more than a million ammunition,» she added.
Currently, the Ministry of Strategy is developing a line of drones with ammunition, which is necessary for the Ukrainian army. Further, the issue of their unification will be discussed. Hvozdiar added that different needs require different drones.
Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv they want to launch a program aimed at supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine by providing military drones developed by local engineers.
Let us remind you that Latvia will provide Ukraine with a generator with a capacity of 250 megawatts and together with our country will increase the production of drones. It should be noted that 67 samples of Ukrainian drones that have passed admission procedures can be contracted in Ukraine. In 2022, there were only 7 of them.
Earlier, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov said that this year in Ukraine companies will produce «hundreds of thousands» of various types of drones for the front.
