As of June 4, the courts of the Mykolaiv region satisfied 115 petitions of convicts regarding voluntary entry into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Denys Falchenko, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, told about this on Wednesday, June 5, answering the question of the NikVesti correspondent.

More than 200 convicts, whose cases correspond to the list of the law, have already expressed their desire to mobilize, says Denys Falchenko. After the court has reviewed and granted the petition, they are released and must sign a contract.

«We have very fruitful work going on. Currently, more than 200 people who are serving sentences have expressed a desire to mobilize to the Armed Forces. Workers of the colony submit applications to the specified persons. The court examines them, and the persons listed under this law receive conditional early release and they transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military service according to the contract,» said the head of the regional prosecutor's office.

Convicts undergo military medical commissions and interviews. So far, 115 petitions have been approved by the courts.

«Three days after the adoption of the law, three convicts were sent to draw up a contract. They passed the medical examination. The commissions left, conducted inspections and surveys. Yesterday there was information that the courts satisfied 115 petitions. These persons are increasing in arithmetic progression every day,» said Denys Falchenko.

On May 27, the Mykolaiv Central Court allowed the mobilization of two convicts who expressed their desire to do military service.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice announced that more than three thousand convicts had written statements about their desire to mobilize.
