Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant (TPP) is a facility providing centralized heating and electricity generation for the city of Mykolaiv. Founded in 1902, the TPP has a thermal capacity of 410 Gcal/hour and an electrical capacity of 40 MW. The facility supplies about 40% of the city, providing heat to over 160,000 residents and multi-story residential buildings. In 2023, the TPP encountered significant difficulties at the start of the heating season, which began on November 14, but due to network failures, stable heating was only achieved in early December. City authorities called for personnel changes and initiated an internal investigation to establish responsibility. During heating season preparations, the facility regularly identifies and repairs network defects, replacing specific pipeline sections as needed. The TPP also updates thermal energy tariffs for various categories of consumers, including public institutions, religious organizations, and other users.
