In Mykolaiv Oblast, the inflation rate increased by 2.9% — the prices of meat, vegetables and eggs have become cheaper

In the Mykolayiv region, the inflation rate for 2023 increased by 2.9% — meat and meat products rose in price the most, while vegetables and eggs fell in price.

Relevant statistics are indicated in the «Program of economic and social development of the Mykolaiv region for 2024», NikVesti writes.

According to the latest statistical data, inflation in the consumer market of the Mykolaiv region in September 2023 increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month.

«A significant influence on this process is the perception of consumer demand, which remains depressed due to an increase in unemployment and a reduction in real wages. In addition, external migration of Ukrainian citizens occurs as a result of growing security risks, which also affects the general consumer demand,» the report said.

The largest price increase was recorded in the category of meat and meat products — 15.3%, bread, fish, butter, sugar and non-alcoholic products.

At the same time, some goods became cheaper: vegetables lost 27.2% of their value, and eggs fell in price by 30.7%. Clothing and footwear, although they increased their prices by 3.0%, are marked by a decrease in prices for individual items, in particular, footwear increased in price by 8.4%, while clothing decreased in price by 2.0%.

Note that as of June, the inflation rate in the Mykolaiv region was 5.2%. Mykolaiv Oblast was also on the list of regions with the highest level of inflation since the beginning of the year. However, price growth in the region has slowed over time. For example, in September, compared to August, inflation was 0.5%, since the beginning of the year — 2.9%.
