The opening of the maritime border in the Black Sea allowed Ukraine to increase the export of goods by 35% in the first half of 2024.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the government meeting.
According to him, Ukraine reached pre-war export figures.
He noted that from the first day of its invasion, Russia did everything to block Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.
«That is why one of the biggest victories for Ukraine last year was the opening of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor. Exactly one year has passed, and today we can evaluate extremely important results for our country. More than 2,300 ships entered the Black Sea ports of Ukraine this year. Cargo turnover amounted to more than 64 million tons. Almost 44 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine,» says Denys Shmyhal.
It was previously reported that in seven months of 2024, Ukrainian seaports processed 59.9 million tons of cargo.
