The Verkhovna Rada did not support resolutions that could block draft law №11256-2, which provides for an increase in excise taxes on fuel and alcoholic beverages. Now the document is waiting for the signature of the Speaker of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

People's deputy from «Holos» Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported this, writes Babel.

The law will enter into force on September 1, along with an increase in excise taxes.

The document provides that by 2028, the government will gradually increase excise tax rates on gasoline to €359 per 1,000 liters, on diesel fuel to €330 per 1,000 liters, and on liquefied gas to €277 per 1,000 liters.

The excise tax on wines and other fermented beverages with an alcohol content of 1.2% to 22% will also increase — from ₴8.42 to ₴12.23 per liter.

The explanatory note states that monthly inflows of 1.6 billion hryvnias to the state budget are expected in the second half of 2024.

We will remind that on Thursday, July 18, the Verkhovna Rada supported draft law 11256-2 on increasing the excise tax on fuel. As MP Iryna Herashchenko noted, «as a result, the price of gasoline and diesel will increase by 1.66 hryvnias per liter already in September. According to the government, this is not essential.»
