The agrarians of the Mykolaiv region paid one billion in taxes to the budgets of all levels.

This was reported by the director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Olena Piskun, during a briefing, "NikVesti writes.

«The agro-industrial complex of the whole of Ukraine continues to increase the volume of production, despite the difficult conditions that exist today, in particular, this is connected with the war, as well as with changes in weather and climate conditions,» said Olena Piskun.

In particular, she reported that farmers in the Mykolaiv region also continue to increase production.

«This year, despite all this, our farmers continue to increase production and pay taxes. Only in the first half of the year, the farmers of our region paid one billion hryvnias of taxes and income to the budgets of all levels. This is a very good result and there is still half a year ahead and farmers will continue to pay taxes,» she added.

How does the agricultural sector work in the Mykolayiv region?

At the beginning of March, twelve regions in Ukraine have already started sowing spring cereals — wheat, barley, peas and oats. Among them is the Mykolayiv region.

This year, in the 2024 sowing campaign, the agrarians of the Mykolaiv region used the lands that were flooded as a result of the Russian troops undermining the Kakhovka HPP. The head of the Mykolaiv Oblast noted that the farmers of the Mykolaiv region began to grow more technical crops due to blocked ports and problems with logistics.

It should be noted that the agricultural producers of the Mykolaiv region, who suffered losses after flooding due to an explosion at the Kakhovka HPP, received compensation from the state in the amount of 1.5 billion hryvnias.

In addition, the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) selected 29 agricultural producers from the Voznesenskyi district of the Mykolayiv region, who will receive modular grain warehouses for storing their products.

In 2023, the production of agricultural products in the Mykolaiv region, compared to 2022, increased by 24%.

During 2023, the Mykolaiv region exported 2.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.

In general, the losses of Mykolaiv Oblast farmers due to the full-scale war amounted to 5.5 billion dollars.
