The public utility company, the Self-financing Department of Construction Mechanization, plans to spend 5.8 million hryvnias on equipment for controlling street lighting.

The documentation states that 65 street lighting control cabinets should be purchased for 5 million 850 thousand hryvnias. These should be two-section cabinets with a sloping roof, plinth and foundation, made of polyester and reinforced glass fiber. The warranty for the equipment must be at least 60 months.

In general, the technical characteristics of the devices indicate that the street lighting system with control cabinets is able to regulate power and brightness by itself: at night, the lamps work with less power. All this makes it possible to significantly save on electricity.

In addition, the utility will purchase a digital astronomical timer that allows automatic control of the switching on of different types of lighting based on geographic location.

Bidders are currently submitting their offers, the auction will be held on September 18.

We will remind that in May 2024, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych shared plans for the complete replacement of lighting in the city with LED technology in order to minimize electricity consumption.

In addition, it was noted that there will be enough money for street lighting in Mykolaiv's budget until the end of 2024. By introducing blackout schedules, the city saves money on electricity.

It was also reported that in Mykolaiv they plan to save electricity by stopping the lighting of the surrounding areas and buildings of executive bodies, as well as by reducing the lighting on the streets and in parks.
