In Voznesensk, it is planned to allocate 200,000 hryvnias for the sterilization of homeless animals by the end of 2024.
This is stated in the draft decision of the executive committee of the Voznesensk City Council.
It is noted that such measures are necessary to reduce the number of homeless animals and ensure their coexistence with people.
According to the report on the implementation of the program for regulating the number of homeless animals, since the beginning of 2024, the city authorities have implemented 1 million 800 thousand hryvnias in this direction.
In general, this year the program «On handling animals and regulating the number of homeless animals on the territory of the community and the city of Voznesensk for 2021-2024» expires this year.
According to the information contained in the draft decision, the main measures envisaged by the program for 4 years:
— development and implementation of a system of accounting, registration and identification of homeless animals;
— development and implementation of a system of mass sterilization, vaccination, preventive treatments and treatment of homeless animals;
— development and implementation of measures to support the accompaniment of homeless animals throughout their lives;
— creation of shelters or temporary holding points for animals of various forms of ownership;
— development and implementation of a system of informational and educational measures regarding the humane treatment of homeless and domestic animals, accommodation of homeless animals, promotion of sterilization of domestic animals, etc.
The report of the City Council on the performance of the work states that the measures and funds provided for in the program have been implemented by 100%. In general, during this time, 5.7 million hryvnias were spent on all activities provided for by the program.
