The Mykolaiv region restoration service wants to repair the road for ₴507 million, on which almost ₴150 million has been spent since 2023

The Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Mykolaiv Oblast has announced a tender for the overhaul of 5 kilometers of the state road P-55 Odesa — Voznesensk — Novyi Buh for 507.3 million hryvnias.

This is evidenced by data from the ProZorro public procurement system, NikVesti reports.

According to the list of works specified in the tender documentation, the contractor has until August 30, 2025:

• Build a new road surface
• Install two car stops (car pavilions)
• Arrange arrivals pockets for buses and other transport, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings
• Replace the small bridge on the road section with a culvert
• Widen the roadside by sprinkling the soil
• Install road signs
• Make a new road marking

In October 2023, the Restoration Service announced a tender for similar works. Then the winner of the tender was the «European Road Construction Company». The customer and the contractor concluded a contract for the amount of over 104 million hryvnias, the work was to be completed by May 15, 2024.

On the website of the winning company, it is noted that the work began only in June. As of September 2024, the company has completed part of the work, in particular:

• Milling and dismantling of the existing coating on the entire site
• Installation of a metal culvert instead of a small bridge
• A layer of concrete was laid on 3.5 kilometers

The company's website states that the work will be completed by the end of 2024.

«The R-55 road is important for the smooth delivery of goods to the ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv. The existing surface was in an extremely unsatisfactory condition — significant pitting of the asphalt concrete surface, cracks, and in some places its absence at all», this is how the company explains the need for major road repairs.

According to the data published in the ProZorro system, since October 2023, more than 248 million hryvnias have been spent on the repair of the road P-55 Odesa — Voznesensk — Novyi Buh.

We will remind you that recently the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region announced a tender for the maintenance of the Varvarivskyi bridge until the end of 2025. By December 20, 2025, the winner of the tender must repair the bridge for 57.2 million hryvnias.
