Italy will allocate 45 million euros for the restoration of damaged architectural objects in Odessa. With these funds, it is planned to repair five cultural monuments.

This was announced by the head of the Department of Culture and European Integration of Odesa City Council, Ivan Liptuha, Ukrinform writes.

According to him, the preliminary list of objects included: the Odesa Philharmonic, the Museum of Western and Eastern Art, the Literary Museum, the Art Museum and the building of national importance at 6 Prymorskyi Boulevard.

«In the building on Prymorskyi, they plan to create a Management Center for the UNESCO world cultural heritage site,» noted Ivan Liptuha.

At the same time, according to him, the list of objects is not yet final and needs to be approved by the supervisory board, which includes representatives of the Ukrainian and Italian authorities.

As you know, in the historical center of Odesa, which is under the protection of UNESCO, 25 architectural monuments were damaged as a result of a rocket attack overnight, on July 23, during the shelling of the Russians.

We will remind that the historical center of Odesa, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, plans to include almost the entire central part of the city with an area of approximately 600 hectares.

In 2022, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) approved Ukraine's application to include Odesa in the list of World Heritage Sites, as the city is under threat of Russian shelling.
