The Cabinet of Ministers allocated almost ₴500 million for payments to the families of fallen soldiers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has redistributed almost 740 million hryvnias, which were provided for in the 2024 state budget to finance veterans' programs. Most of these funds were allocated to payments to the families of fallen servicemen.
This was reported by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
In particular, the funding of the program for mental, sports, physical, psychological rehabilitation and professional adaptation was reduced by 498.57 million hryvnias.
These funds will be directed to other areas:

453.72 million hryvnias will be used to pay one-time cash benefits in case of death or disability of veterans in accordance with the law «On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection»;

44.85 million hryvnias will be allocated to the operation of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.
In addition, the government reduced by 241.62 million hryvnias expenditures on the program related to the support of specialists in accompanying veterans and demobilized persons. These funds will be used for monetary compensation for housing for families of participants in hostilities on the territory of other states and veterans with disabilities of groups I-II.
We will remind that in Mykolaiv the monetary assistance to wounded civilians and families of those killed as a result of shelling by Russian troops has been increased.
As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are creating escort services for family members of dead, missing and captured servicemen.
It was previously reported that the families of prisoners and missing persons will be notified in Diia.
