The average salary decreased in January, while wage arrears increased in Mykolaiv region

In January 2026, the average salary of full-time employees in the Mykolaiv region was slightly more than 25,000 hryvnias, which is 15.5% less than in December 2025. According to this indicator, the region ranked 7th among the regions of Ukraine.

This is evidenced by data from the Main Statistical Office in the Mykolaiv region, according to NikVesti.

The highest average salary was in the field of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, at over 55,700 hryvnias, while the lowest was in the field of arts, sports, entertainment and recreation, at over 11,000 hryvnias.

As of 1 February 2026, the total wage arrears in the region amounted to 40.8 million hryvnias, which is 8.4% more than at the beginning of January. Mykolaiv region's share in the total Ukrainian debt is 1.2%.

The largest share of the debt is in industry (54%) and agriculture, forestry and fisheries (45.5%), with other types of economic activity accounting for only 0.5% of the debt.

It should be noted that in October 2025, the average salary of officials of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration was almost 44,000 hryvnias. At the same time, the average income of the management reached almost 112,000 hryvnias.
