The government allocated more than ₴307 million for the restoration of roads in the Mykolaiv region

The government has allocated more than 2.38 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget for the restoration of roads. More than 307 million hryvnias will be received by the Mykolaiv region near the front.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

As the Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko reported, the funds can be spent exclusively on the restoration of destroyed roads, which are used for the transportation of military and humanitarian goods and as evacuation routes.

«Today, being in Donetsk region, we see that the business continues to work despite the enormous challenges, demonstrating incredible resilience. The key issues are damage to the energy sector, access to financing, compensation for losses for businesses that were damaged during the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and others. We are looking for a solution for each of the issues. In particular, the first, regarding the improvement of logistics, was announced already today. This is a contribution to the defense capability of the region and an opportunity to save thousands of lives,» added Yuliia Svyrydenko.

In accordance with the government's decision, the following funds will be allocated to the restoration of roads:

  • Dnipropetrovsk region — ₴196.4 million;
  • Donetsk region — ₴324.5 million;
  • Zaporizhzhia region — ₴350 million;
  • Mykolaiv region — ₴307.1 million ;
  • Sumy region — ₴222.2 million;
  • Kharkiv region — ₴502.95 million;
  • Kherson region — ₴224.3 million;
  • Chernihiv region — ₴258.79 million.

The funds will be at the disposal of regional administrations, which must agree, in particular, with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Infrastructure, the list of roads important for ensuring the needs of defense and humanitarian goals, which are subject to restoration.

Earlier, NikVesti told how the repair of bridges and roads destroyed by the war in the Mykolayiv region is ongoing. 20.4 billion hryvnias are needed only for the reconstruction of destroyed bridges and roads of state importance in the Mykolaiv region.

After the start of the full-scale war with Russia, about 850 kilometers of roads were damaged in the Mykolaiv region, which is 25% of the total length of roads in the region. As of the summer of 2023, 244 kilometers of roads have been repaired in Mykolaiv Oblast.

And the Local Roads Agency is going to spend 691 million hryvnias on operational maintenance of roads in the Mykolaiv region during the year.
