In the Mykolaiv region, less than 4% of the required number of local public warning systems have been installed.

This was reported by the deputy head of the Department of Civil Protection, Olena Horbachova, writes NikVesti.

Today, such systems are installed only in two communities of the region — Mykolaiv and Yuzhnoukrainsk.

«The local system is the system that receives the signal from the regional system and transmits it to the population centers of the community. In the Mykolayiv region, we need to create a total of 56 local warning systems,» said Olena Horbachova.

These works are financed from local community budgets. First of all, the UTC should develop a technical task and agree it with the state service for emergency situations.

«Functionally, the state system brings signals to the regional level. The regional level brings the signal to the local level. Next, the local level creates its local system and brings it to territorial communities. As for the regional one, it is financed from the regional budget. As for local systems, it already comes from local budgets,» the administration explained.

According to Olena Horbachova, 17 communities of the Mykolaiv region have started such work today. Projects for the arrangement of local warning systems have been submitted for approval to specialists of the regional civil protection department. Olena Horbachova cannot yet give an approximate time frame when appropriate systems will appear in the communities.

«They are being worked on. This is what we are saying, that there are already the first steps in this, but this process is long. And it depends on how the financing will be, what amount of financing this or that system will need,» she said.

We will remind you that 6 million 100 thousand hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget of the Mykolaiv Oblast for 2024 to improve the public notification system.
