If Russia has set a goal to destroy the Dnipro HPP, then missile attacks on the dam may continue.

This was said by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko on the air of the telethon.

According to the minister, after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP, the worst can be expected from the Russians.

«Here it is necessary to understand: whether it was a deliberate strike on the dam, or whether they simply did not hit the HPP. If this is a deliberate attack and they are aiming to destroy the HPP dam itself, then, of course, these attacks will be repeated and they will attack the dam itself,» Herman Halushchenko said.

The minister noted that the consequences of the missile attack on the Dnipro HPP are complex. Now the equipment is being tested at the station, after which experts will be able to determine how long it will take to restore the operation of the hydroelectric power plant. However, it is not known how long it will take for the station to return to its previous energy generation performance.

Halushchenko noted that if the equipment needs repair, it will take less time, but if it is completely destroyed and needs to be made from scratch, it will take longer.

As you know, during the shelling of Ukraine on March 22, Russian troops hit Ukraine's largest hydroelectric power station — DniproHES in Zaporizhzhia.

One of the rockets hit a trolley bus with people, which was moving along the dam of the Dnipro HPP. He burned.

Ihor Syrota said that there were two direct hits at Dnipro HPP — HPP-1 and HPP-2. It is not known whether it will be possible to restore HPP-2, it is seriously damaged. One of the rockets hit the support, the crane beams were broken. The engine room and electrical equipment will have to be completely restored. The scale of the consequences will be clear during the day.

Due to the impact on the DniproHES hydroelectric power station in Zaporizhzhia , a large-scale leakage of oil products into the Dnipro River occurred.

Earlier it was reported that international partners can help «Ukrhydroenerho» inthe restoration of the Dnipro hydroelectric plant.

As a result of damage to the Dnipro HPP, 20% of Ukrhydroenergo's regulatory capacity was lost. Damage assessments are currently underway.
