Ukraine received a $3.9 billion grant from the United States through the World Bank.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.

According to the minister, $3.9 billion is the first tranche of direct budget support from the United States in 2024. In total, Ukraine will receive $7.8 billion in direct budget aid from the United States this year.

Denys Shmyhal explained that the money will be used to pay the salaries of teachers, doctors and rescuers, as well as social benefits.

«Thank you to the United States and the World Bank for the high level of attention and support that strengthens our resilience in the face of barbaric Russian aggression,» he wrote.

We will remind you how in April Joe Biden signed the law on aid to Ukraine. Later it became known that the USA will allocate an additional $2 billion in aid to Ukraine.

We will also remind you how Mykolaiv City Hall explained why resettled people may lose payments from the state.
