An exhibition of the works of the Mykolaiv School of Conceptual and Art Photography (MYPH) will be shown in the capital of Denmark.

This is reported on the platform about modern art Ugallery.

In Copenhagen, the exhibition entitled «Common Body: Mykolaiv Young Photography» will be presented on February 24. It will feature more than eighty works by the school's founder Serhii Melnychenko and eight MYPH graduates, as well as three slide shows.

The curator of visual culture and contemporary art projects of the Ukrainian House in Denmark, Katia Stukalova, notes that the photographs of this exhibition present a wide variety of bodies — some are naked, others are covered, and some are deliberately hidden behind clothes, ashes, projections, or household items.

«The fate of freedom in the world is now in the hands of Ukrainian soldiers and depends on the number of drones and other equipment provided by Ukraine's allies — like-minded nations that share our values and stand with us for the ideals of human dignity. The body of our life is shared. The body of our suffering is shared. Our success and our victory will also be shared. This especially applies to countries like Denmark, which is not only a leader among other countries in providing economic, military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, but also participates in the reconstruction of its cities, in particular Mykolaiv,» says Nataliia Popovych, head of the Ukrainian House in Denmark. .

Authors of the exhibition: Serhii Melnychenko, Artem Humilevskyi, Kseniia Petrovska, Natali Agryzkova, Veronika Mol, Savka, Iryna Kabysh, Li Biletska, Anastasiia Dekhtyaruk.

«It is extremely important for us to bring this exhibition to Denmark, a country that consistently shows strong support for our hometown. Mykolayiv, the city where MYPH was born, has been a place where we have experienced many challenges and criticisms, but it is also the foundation of our energy and determination. Despite all the trials, it is clear that we are moving in the right direction, and the opportunity to present our work at the Ukrainian House in Denmark is the best proof of this and is of great importance to us. This exhibition allows us not only to present Mykolaiv photography, but also to show a wider range of young Ukrainian photography,» says Serhii Melnychenko, who acted as co-curator of the exhibition.
