The documentary «20 Days in Mariupol» won an award at the Septimius Awards in the Netherlands

Mstyslav Chernov's documentary «20 Days in Mariupol» won in the «Best Feature Documentary» category at the Septimius Awards in the Netherlands.

The ceremony was held on August 20 in Amsterdam, where the award went to producer Vasylisa Stepanenko, who worked with the director in Mariupol during the siege of the city by Russian troops in 2022. She appeared on stage with Anastasia, who was in the Mariupol maternity hospital during the bombings when she was pregnant.

«It's a huge honor to be on stage with this family. She (Anastasia, — note) was pregnant with her son when the Russians bombed the maternity hospital. Today he is almost three years old, just like the war... I came here from Ukraine, and tomorrow I will return to continue reporting, telling these important stories. Thanks to you and the films, we can tell these important stories,» said Vasylisa Stepanenko.

We will remind, earlier the tape «20 Days in Mariupol» by Mstyslav Chernov also won in the nomination «Best Documentary Film» of the BAFTA award.

Also, two documentaries about the war in Ukraine — «From where to where» by Macek Hamel and «20 days in Mariupol» by Mstyslav Chernov — won awards at the Sheffield DocFest 2023 festival in Great Britain.

Since April 21 of this year, the documentary film «20 Days in Mariupol» has appeared on the Netflix streaming platform.
