Russian drone attack damages shops and cafes in central Mykolaiv

Following the overnight shelling of Mykolaiv on 10 October, residential buildings, retail outlets and office premises on Soborna Street were damaged.

In the city centre, debris from drones damaged shops, a pharmacy, a bar, a cheburek shop and several cafés. The damage is visible on the façades, windows and entrances of premises along the street. This part of the city had already been subjected to Russian shelling in 2022.

Staff at the Chernoff electronics shop told «NikVesti» that the shelling took place at around two o’clock in the morning.

«It’s hard to say exactly what’s been damaged at the moment, as we haven’t assessed all the damage yet. It’s just the external façade; we’re sorting out the rest now,» said a shop employee.

According to him, after the shelling, staff arrived at the shop and began clearing up. It was difficult to get inside
due to damage to the doors and shutters.

«Thank God it didn’t happen during the day. If there had been people inside at the time, the consequences could have been much worse,» the employee noted.

He added that the shop will be repaired and will continue to operate. Despite the damage, staff are already serving customers.

The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that the city had been attacked by Shahed-type drones. No one was injured in the attack.
