Zelenskyy: Japan will transfer another $3 billion from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine

Japan will provide Ukraine with another three billion dollars from frozen Russian assets, as well as additional assistance for energy equipment and shelter construction.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on December 25 after a conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

«I am grateful for the decision of the Japanese government to transfer another three billion dollars to Ukraine, secured by frozen Russian assets, and for additional assistance for energy equipment and the construction of shelters»,» the president noted.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ishiba on his election as Prime Minister of Japan and thanked him for the humanitarian and financial assistance. The total Japanese aid package amounted to $12 billion.

Recall that the European Union has allocated 150 million euros to Ukraine, part of the funds will be directed to free meals in schools for children in grades 1-4.
