The Latvian state energy company Latvenergo handed Ukraine equipment for restoring the power system.
This is reported by Delfi.
It is noted that Ukraine received a high-voltage transformer, which was previously used at the Riga hydroelectric plant, 60 tons of transformer oil and a compressed air compressor.
The Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service helped with the delivery of the cargo. At the same time, the transport costs were covered by the European Union.
«With the supply of a high-voltage transformer, lubricant and compressor, the residents of Ukraine will be provided with assistance at the household level, as well as for water and heat supply to hospitals, schools and other facilities,» Latvenergo administrative director Arnis Kurgs said.
As you know, during 2023, Latvia handed over 271 cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that the Sejm of Latvia, in the first reading, adopted amendments to the Law «On Road Traffic», which provide for a ban on vehicles registered in Russia being in Latvia.
