Yesterday evening, November 13, around 10:00 p.m., a freight train ran over a 69-year-old resident of Odesa region on the railway track between Chornomorska and Kremydivka stations.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region.

According to the driver, he noticed the woman on the tracks, gave sound and light signals and tried to stop the train by applying emergency braking, but it was not possible to avoid a collision. The victim suffered a broken leg and was hospitalized.

«Investigators entered information about the event into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which qualifies as a violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of railway, water or air transport, if they caused the victim moderate or severe bodily harm or caused great material damage. The investigation is ongoing. The full circumstances of the event are being established,» the message reads.

It will be recalled that in Odesa, two citizens promised to help a conscript evade the draft for $17,000. They face up to 8 years in prison.
