In the Mykolayiv region, due to an accident at the sewage pumping station, raw sewage was discharged into the Southern Bug.

This was reported in the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

It is noted that the problems occurred at the «Pivdenna» station of the «Pervomaisk Department of Water Supply and Sewerage» utility company. Raw sewage was discharged into the river through an emergency discharge pipe with a diameter of 200 millimeters.

Ecoinspection specialists took water samples. The results of the laboratory analysis confirmed the excess in such indicators as sulfates, dry residue, biochemical and chemical oxygen consumption.

«The person in charge of the KP «Pervomaisk Management of Water Supply and Sewerage» was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 59, Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Currently, the inspectorate is calculating the amount of damage caused to the state. After that, a claim will be sent to the company,» the report says.
