Ukrainian military personnel struck an oil depot in the Russian city of Orel on the night of December 14. The operation was carried out by units of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other structures of the Defense Forces.
The strike was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff noted that the strike was carried out on the Steel Horse production control station, which caused a large-scale fire. This station is part of the Russian military-industrial complex, ensuring the supply of petroleum products to the Russian army.
According to the General Staff, «Steel Horse» is one of the largest oil product terminals in the suburbs of Orel.
Earlier, Russian Telegram channels reported on explosions in Orel that occurred in the early hours of December 14. According to them, the attack was carried out using drones, and one of the targets was an oil depot. However, official Russian media and local authorities have not yet commented on these events.
Recall that earlier, on the night of November 25, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with other units of the Defense Forces, struck a number of important facilities in the Briansk, Kaluga, and Kursk regions of Russia.
