On the morning of December 20, Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Debris from downed Russian missiles fell in three districts of Kyiv. Cars are burning in the Holosiivskyi district and two people are injured.
This was reported by the city military administration (KCMA) and city mayor Vitalii Klychko.
At around 6:40 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force reported a missile threat across the entire territory of Ukraine due to the takeoff of Russian MiG-31Ks. Later, they warned of five high-speed targets heading towards the capital.
According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, the Russians are launching ballistic missile strikes from Bryansk.
This caused cars to catch fire in the Holosiivskyi district. According to Volodymyr Klychko, an ambulance was called to the scene of the impact, and later it became known about the victim, who was being treated, and another who was hospitalized.
Later, the KCMA reported that debris had fallen at another address in the Holosiivskyi district, where a heating main was damaged, as well as in the Dniprovskyi district, where it had fallen on an unfinished building. In addition, fires broke out in the Solomyanskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.
Also, according to the State Emergency Service, as a result of another hostile drone attack in the Boryspil district, a warehouse with an area of 15,000 m2 caught fire. The fire was contained at 04:05.
One person died in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, the KCMA previously reported.
In addition, Russian sabotage and enemy groups tried to advance towards Kherson. According to the head of the RMA, Alexander Prokudin, the Defense Forces immediately managed to detect and destroy the occupiers.
The head of the RMA stressed that the situation on the right bank remains tense. During the night alone, the Russians shelled residential areas, critical and social infrastructure, resulting in 7 injuries.
