Russia attacked Ukrainian cities with missiles and drones on Christmas

The Russian army attacked cities in Ukraine on Christmas Day, December 25, with missiles and drones. The energy sector was once again the target of Russian strikes.

Russia launched kamikaze drones over Ukraine at night. The Air Force reported that enemy drones were attacking the country from the north, east, and south. At the same time, Russia took off with strategic Tu-95 aircraft from which they launch missiles at Ukraine.

Throughout the night and morning, explosions and air defenses were heard in various parts of Ukraine.

Attack on Kharkiv

A series of explosions have rocked Kharkiv. The Russian Federation has launched at least seven strikes on the city, reported the head of the RMA, Oleh Syniehubov.

«Hits were recorded in Saltivskyi, Kyivskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts. At the moment, six people have been injured. Several fires have broken out in non-residential buildings, rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of enemy attacks», the report says.

At the same time, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that a fire broke out at the arrival site in the Kyiv district, and the windows of surrounding houses were damaged. In the Nemyshlyansky district, a private house was hit.

Later, he also reported a strike by Shahed drone. At the point of arrival in the private sector of the Osnovianskyi district, a fire broke out in a one-story house. Information about the victims is being clarified.

Attack on Ivano-Frankivsk region

During the morning alert, Russia also struck the Ivano-Frankivsk region, reported the head of the RMA Svitlana Onyshchuk. As a result, part of the region was left without electricity. The relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences. There were no casualties.

Attack on Vinnytsia region

There is also damage in the Vinnytsia region as a result of the attack, said Nataliia Zabolotna, First Deputy Chief of the RMA.

«As of this morning, thanks to the coordinated work of energy workers, all consumers are powered up. I thank all services for their efficiency»,» she noted.

Damage in Zhytomyr region

At night, as a result of an attack in the Zhytomyr district, an abandoned wooden building was damaged and a barn caught fire. According to the head of the RMA, Vitalii Bunechko, the fire was extinguished in 30 minutes thanks to the professional actions of the SES workers. There were no injuries or deaths.

Situation in Cherkasy region

The head of the Cherkasy RMA, Ihor Taburets, noted that within the region, the defenders destroyed two Shaheds. It passed without consequences.

«However, the situation in the country's power system after the shelling is extremely difficult. Outage schedules have been applied. I will inform you about any changes in the situation»,» he noted.

We remind you that on the morning of December 25, consumers in Mykolaiv and the region began to turn off their electricity according to hourly outage schedules. Ukrenergo noted that the schedules were introduced due to the massive Russian attack on Ukrainian cities.
