This was reported in response to an information request from NikVesti by the Mykolaiv Region Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service.
In particular, the request states that this year all funds from the state road fund will be directed towards the defence and security needs of Ukraine.
«With the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, capital expenditures for the repair of public roads of national importance in the Mykolaiv region have been significantly reduced. Last year and this year, funds from the state road fund are being transferred in full to the general fund of the State Budget of Ukraine for the needs of Ukraine's security and defence sector,» the statement said.
At the same time, the Service adds that emergency work will be carried out to ensure the safe movement of motor vehicles.
«In order to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic, emergency repairs will be carried out as part of the operational maintenance of motorways, primarily in frontline areas. These measures are aimed at the prompt elimination of damage to the road surface, the removal of emergency potholes and the restoration of the carriageway to a safe condition for traffic,» the Service said.
The 2026 state budget promises to allocate funds for the repair of roads used to transport children to base schools: what is known
At the end of December, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, announced that in 2026, the region will receive funding for the repair of roads used to transport students to schools. He noted that currently, 87% of children in the region attend school in person or in a blended format, but one of the key problems remains the roads to schools in communities.
In addition, Vitalii Kim noted that the region had analysed the routes used to transport students: data was collected on the number of children, the duration of trips and the condition of the roads, and the information was forwarded to the ministry in September.
«We systematised the data, broke it down by the number of students and the hours they travel, and sent it to the ministry in September. We were promised that they would definitely fix this by 2026. This is an issue that I ask to be raised, that it is a tragedy, that children need to get to school quickly. This is a problem that needs to be solved,» said the head of the Regional State Administration.
Vitalii Kim said back in October that the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration was looking into options for repairing the damaged roads used to transport children to school every day.
