On the morning of 16 March, Russian forces launched a drone attack on Kyiv.
This was reported by the capital’s mayor, Vitalii Klychko, and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.
It is noted that there were no casualties. The effects of the attack were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi, Solomianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts of the city.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris from a drone fell on non-residential land, causing the grass to catch fire. In the Solomianskyi district, parts of drones fell in open terrain.
Smoking debris was also observed near the Independence Monument in the centre of the capital.
Emergency services are currently working at the sites where the debris fell.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, windows at an educational institution and a high-rise building were damaged as a result of a night-time drone attack.
