In the first quarter of 2026, 38 permits for the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere were issued in the Mykolaiv region, whilst 10 applications were rejected due to non-compliance with documentation requirements.

This was stated by Dmytro Mats, deputy head of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, during a briefing, according to NikVesti.

According to him, the enterprises that received permits included gas transmission system facilities, transport infrastructure companies, and businesses in the trade and food industries, particularly the processing sector.

«In the first quarter, 38 permits for the emission of pollutants were issued, and 10 applications were refused due to the submitted documents not meeting legal requirements. Among the enterprises that received permits were the gas transmission system, transport infrastructure enterprises, trade and food industry enterprises, particularly in the processing sector. Furthermore, in the first quarter, enterprises submitted reports on compliance with the requirements of permits obtained in previous periods. The department reviewed 83 such reports on compliance with permit conditions,» said Dmytro Mats.

It should be noted that in the Mykolaiv region, the area of protected sites is one of the smallest in Ukraine. This year, there are plans to expand it by 190 hectares, partly thanks to the «Druzhba» park.

Dmytro Mats reported that despite the war and the fact that part of the region’s nature reserve areas are currently occupied, plans are in place to create three new such sites this year. Plans are in place to develop projects for the «Druzhba» Park in Mykolaiv and two sites in the region: in the Mykolaiv district (Novoukrainskyi) and Starohorozhynskyi (Bashtanskyi district).
