On the night of May 21, air defense forces shot down 28 out of 29 attack UAVs that the Russians used to attack Ukraine.

This was announced by the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykola Oleschuk.

It is noted that the Russians launched 29 «Shakhed» from three directions: Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk, which are in the Russian Federation, as well as Cape Chauda (occupied Crimea).

As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 28 drones were shot down in Cherkasy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson and Kirovohrad regions.

The air attack was repulsed by mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, as well as involving anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and Ground Forces, fighter aircraft and electronic warfare units.

We will remind that the Russian occupiers attacked two communities of the Mykolaiv region — Ochakiv and Kutsurub.
