«Drained» critical infrastructure locations in Mykolaiv: a local resident is suspected of working for the Russian Federation

A resident of Mykolaiv is suspected of disseminating information to the Russians about the coordinates of the bases of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the locations of critical infrastructure facilities in the city and region.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 47-year-old man started correspondence with a representative of the aggressor country through the Telegram channel. He collected and transmitted information to the enemy about the deployment locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations on the territory of Mykolaiv and the region.

It is noted that the Russians were primarily interested in the exact coordinates of military units, checkpoints and bridge guard points in the city, as well as the location of medical facilities where assistance is provided to Ukrainian defenders.

According to law enforcement officers, the man collected the necessary information, recorded it on Google Maps, took photos and sent it via messenger to a representative of the Russian special services. Intelligence was needed by the Russians to prepare for possible mass air attacks.

The prosecutor's office sent an indictment to the court on the fact of unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment, transfer or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under conditions of war or a state of emergency, with the aim of providing such information to a state that carries out armed aggression against of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man is currently in custody.

We will remind you that a resident of the Mykolaiv region was sentenced to 11 years in prison, who collected information about the positions of the Armed Forces and HIMARS in order to adjust missile strikes by the enemy.
