In Odesa, a couple was detained on suspicion of spying on the locations of naval guards for airstrikes on the bases of Ukrainian defenders.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The law enforcement officers indicate that the 23-year-old man from Odessa and his 18-year-old bride were agents of the Russian special services and operated in the Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

«Under the guise of brides, they were spying on the maritime security of Odesa,» the SSU reported.

According to the SBU, the pair scouted the locations of border patrol units that defend the water area of the port city.

«In order to get intelligence, they went around the area under the guise of brides and grooms and took pictures against the background of «necessary» objects. In the case of receiving actual intelligence information, the occupiers planned to use it for airstrikes on the bases of Ukrainian defenders,» the law enforcement officers added.

A man and a girl were detained near a potential target. The man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The girl was classified as a suspect under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the transfer of weapons to Ukraine, the movement or location of the Armed Forces if it is possible to identify them on the ground).
