On March 8, a fighter pilot, Major Andrii Tkachenko, died during a combat mission in the Donetsk region.

This was reported on the page of the Plast scouting organization in Sambor, Lviv region.

Andrii Tkachenko served in military service in Ivano-Frankivsk, in Kharkiv, then returned to Ivano-Frankivsk. With the beginning of the war in 2014, he performed combat missions during the ATO and OOS.

After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the place of combat missions for the fighter pilot became not only the east of the country, but also the south.

Andrii Tkachenko is survived by his wife and six-year-old son. The burial will take place in Ivano-Frankivsk.

We will remind, in August 2022, it became known about the death of the battalion commander of the Mykolaiv 36th separate brigade of marines named after Rear-Admiral Mykhailo Bilinskyi, Major Yevhen Chornokin. At that time, it was reported that the soldier had died while performing combat missions.

Later, information appeared that the combatant was killed by a drunken soldier, Valentyn Handebura, who shot the officer with a submachine gun. In February 2023, the Central District Court of Mykolaiv found Handebura innocent of premeditated murder, which was reported in April by Prestupnosti.NET.

The prosecutor's office did not agree with this decision and filed an appeal. In June 2023, by the decision of the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal, soldier Valentyn Handebura was found guilty of the murder of Yevhen Chernokin.
