A large-scale fire in the Odesa region caused ecological damage of ₴7.5 million

In the Odesa region, near the village of Nadlymanske, dry grass has taken over.

The incident happened on July 10, around 1 p.m., reports the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

As ecologists reported, due to the northeast wind, the fire spread to the territory of the park in the area of the «Shepit zaplav» ecosystem.

It is noted that at approximately 10:00 p.m., the fire was extinguished under the control of the park administration, the State Emergency Services of Ukraine and the National Police.

According to the park administration, the area of the burned area is about 400 hectares. According to preliminary data, the damage caused to the natural complexes and objects of the park amounts to almost 7.5 million hryvnias.

The circumstances of the fire are currently being established by law enforcement officers.
