Missile shelling of Mykolaiv on March 17: law enforcement officers have started an investigation

Law enforcement officers are investigating the facts of the shelling of Mykolaiv on March 17 and the murder of a 50-year-old man.
It should be noted that criminal proceedings were opened based on the facts of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (part 2, article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.
According to the investigation, on March 17 at 2:00 p.m., the Russian military launched two missile strikes on the city of Mykolaiv with «Iskander-M» missiles.
As a result of the shelling, a 50-year-old man died, nine more local residents were injured, including an 11-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy.
Private residential buildings, vehicles, as well as civil infrastructure were damaged.
Ballistic strike on Mykolaiv on March 17
On the afternoon of March 17, Russian troops shelled Mykolaiv from installations located on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea. The first flight arrived at 14:01, and the next one 7 minutes later.
As of 16:00 in the evening, 5 victims were known, one of them died in the hospital.
According to the head of the RMA Vitalii Kim, the police blocked the traffic in time because there could have been more victims.
Utility workers immediately began working at the site of the shelling and eliminating the consequences of the attack. Brigades of CP «Pilot» and the Red Cross helped residents with OSB-plates and boards.
