Decided to «check for serviceability»: the police detained a man who set off a firework in Kyiv

Law enforcement officers detained a man who set off fireworks in Darnytskyi district on June 11.
This was reported by the Kyiv police.
According to law enforcement officers, the fireworks were launched from the territory of the waste incineration plant, and a 25-year-old employee of the institution was involved in its launch. The offender explained that he «decided to check the salutary installation for serviceability.»
He was informed of the suspicion of committing hooliganism — part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces a fine or probation supervision for a term of up to five years, or restriction of freedom for the same term.
The police emphasize the categorical ban on the use of any pyrotechnic products during martial law. Criminal liability is provided for the commission of such an offense.
We will remind that on April 11, 2023, the use, sale and transfer of fireworks, fireworks and firecrackers were banned in Ukraine. In addition, the ban also extended to holding events with pyrotechnics and explosives.
