On Thursday, May 23, Russian troops preliminarily fired 15 missiles at Kharkiv and Liubotyn.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
From 10:25, explosions rang out in Kharkiv, as well as outside the city. The explosions were confirmed by the city mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the regional administration Oleh Syniehubov.
It is known beforehand that the enemy struck with S-300 missiles.
As of 12:48 p.m., 6 dead and 16 wounded are reported. Emergency services are already on the scene of the hits and are providing assistance to the victims.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the enemy strike by noting that Ukraine still lacks sufficient air defense protection and a reliable ability to destroy terrorist launchers exactly where they are located — near our borders.
«And this weakness is not our weakness, but the world's, which for the third year does not dare to treat terrorists exactly as they deserve it. Terror must lose everywhere — under any conditions, on any continent. And this is our joint duty — everyone in the world who has the opportunity to protect life from terror. Ukraine is doing everything it can. Thanks to everyone who helps us. But more determination is needed. And from world leaders,» he said.
We will remind that 10 thousand 980 people from Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv districts were evacuated in the Kharkiv region.
