In the afternoon of April 19, the Russian army launched a missile attack on the port infrastructure of the Odesa region, destroying containers with agricultural products that were to be exported to Asian and African countries.

This was reported by the Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine.

Two terminals in the «Pivdennyi» port, which specialize in transshipment of agricultural products, came under attack. One of them belongs to the world-famous Singaporean company «Delta Wilmar», which has been operating in Ukraine since 2004 and also owns several factories for the processing of agricultural products. This is more than 300 million dollars of investment and almost a thousand jobs.

Prior to that, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council that several missiles had hit port infrastructure, «not only Ukrainian, but also Singaporean.» He did not specify the details.

This is Russia's 39th attack on port infrastructure facilities in Odesa region — 215 facilities, 153 vehicles and 8 civilian vessels were damaged and partially destroyed, 26 civilians were injured.

We will remind, as of January 2024, 6.3 million tons of cargo were exported through the Ukrainian grain corridor, which almost reached the pre-war level.
