Shelling of the Shevchenkove community in the Mykolaiv region: experts calculated environmental damage of ₴1.7 billion

Experts calculated 1.7 billion hryvnias of damage to the environment due to Russian shelling of the Shevchenkove territorial community in the Mykolaiv region.

This was reported in the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western District.

In particular, during the planned inspection, it was established that a number of educational institutions of the community were damaged as a result of hostilities.

«Due to the clogging of land resources with construction waste, the total amount of damages is more than 1.7 billion hryvnias,» the report says.

Earlier it was reported that experts calculated 73.5 million hryvnias of damage to the environment due to Russian shelling of the village of Lymany in Mykolaiv Oblast. The ecoinspection notes that the total volume of generated construction waste amounted to 43 cubic meters, and a plot of land with an area of 2,300 square meters was littered.

Also, as a result of forest fires caused by the war, more than 27 billion hryvnias of damage were caused to the environment of the Mykolaiv Oblast.
