The mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych visited the NATO headquarters in Brussels, where he emphasized the need to supply Ukraine with air defense and weapons.
He wrote about this in Telegram.
In particular, he met with allied states and the US mission to NATO.
«They talked about the security situation in the south and east, about how Russia destroys our cities and kills civilians. So they emphasized the need to provide assistance to Ukraine in the form of air defense systems and weapons so that we can protect people, protect our land and return the occupied territories,» he wrote.
In addition, he added that Mykolaiv will be the first city in Ukraine to launch a website where it will be possible to track all information about international aid for the city.
«Which will make this process completely transparent,» he added.
It will be recalled that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that NATO countries have undertaken to provide Ukraine with more air defense systems.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, called on his partners to help protect the sky above Ukraine, recalling how they helped repel Iran's attack on Israel the other day.
Also, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukraine needs at least 25 Patriot air defense systems to protect cities from combined attacks by Russian forces.
