Residents of Mykolaiv are asking for the playgrounds to be repaired

Residents of Mykolaiv are complaining about the dilapidated state of playgrounds in various parts of the city and are asking the city authorities to repair them.

Residents are posting their complaints on the Facebook group «Contact Centre at Mykolaiv City Council».

Residents of the building at 46 Slobidska Street, Block 9 report that the playground in the courtyard has not been repaired for over 10 years.

«We kindly ask you to take a look at the state of the playground. This is the courtyard where many children from the neighbourhood gather. And there’s nowhere for the children to play! The grass is as tall as a four-year-old child, and the swings and everything else are in a state of disrepair,» wrote a resident.

Another complaint concerns the playground near the building at 38/1 Zakhysnykiv Mykolaieva Street.

«Please repair the playground,» the post reads.

Residents of the building at 17 Vadym Blahovisnyi Street are asking for the sandpit to be refurbished and note that they are carrying out some of the work themselves.

«People are tidying up the playground themselves, but we are asking the city services to join in creating suitable conditions for our children to spend their free time,» the residents wrote.

Mykolaiv residents are also asking for the swing at the playground near the building at 45-B General Karpenko Street to be repaired.

— We would be very grateful if the swing could be repaired, — the residents said.

As is well known, complaints from Mykolaiv residents regarding neglected playgrounds and sports grounds are received quite frequently. In just one day, the Contact Centre at Mykolaiv City Council received three complaints regarding the poor condition of playgrounds. Specifically, these concern the playground in Yunist Park, as well as those on 5 Robocha Street and 39 Pryvilna Street.

For his part, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych reported that he had taken note of the large number of complaints received by the contact centre regarding the condition of playgrounds.
