Today, October 11, the Mariupol 86 Days exhibition was opened on Soborna Square in the center of Mykolaiv, the main goal of which is to preserve the memory and honor the feat of the entire garrison of the city. It will work until October 16.
The exhibition presents key events of the defense of Mariupol and exhibits associated with the defense of the city, the correspondent NikVesti reports. Namely: bread cake, sanitizers, which the defenders used to light the fire and disinfect wounds.
This exhibition has already been presented in Kyiv and Odesa. It is built in the shape of an arrow directed towards Mariupol.
«This chronicle is the testimony of direct participants in those events. That is, the military themselves told what they saw, where they were, what was happening in this or that part of the city, how the fighting was going on. And so, at the end of 2022, work on the chronicle began, military experts and journalists were involved, that is, it is a true and real history of those events. As a result, the exhibition is a part of this great chronicle. We want to show the important moments of the city's defense. This is also the «Mariupol» mission, this is the operation of the MDI, when ammunition and medicine were transported from the controlled territory of Ukraine on helicopters, and the dead were evacuated,» said Olena Bunt, the manager of the Heart of Azovstal project.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by families of prisoners of war, marines, representatives of the city and regional authorities: first deputy mayor of Mykolaiv Vitalii Lukov, secretary of Mykolaiv city council Dmytro Falko, deputy head of Mykolaiv regional military administration Heorhii Reshetilov.
